...wish I read the reviews before buying it as I see other people have already addressed this problem. It does not work with iTouch latest version being 3.1.2 (7D11). I get a message "This accessory not supported by this iPod". However, it does work great with my iPod Nano 3rd Gen.

I got this cable and tried using it with my ipod touch 2nd
generatiopn.
I get an error saying "cable not compatible".
So just know that this cable is useless wit the ipod touch gen 2.

This wire is awesome...it works perfect on my 3rd gen nano,if you want great sound and video quality for your ipod nano 3rd gen than you should definately get this.The package was also packaged very well,so dont worry about packaging.

I bought this because I wanted to play my Ipod 3rd Gen through my stereo or TV. I saw that it also works for video so I thought that would be a bonus; HOWEVER, IT DOES NOT DISPLAY VIDEO. I have plugged this into several areas of my TV and I still get no video. The sound is good and is much better then the option of plugging into my earphone jack on the Ipod. So, this serves the purpose on why I bought it, but the added bonus of displaying video isn't there. All in all, if you don't want to purchase a docking station for $50+ this will allow you to play music through your TV/Stereo.
